The event

As part of a working tour through Europe, a group of participants in The Journey – Europe’s largest climate change education programme – will be stopping in Birmingham. The participants are postgraduate researchers from various European universities, and will be at Innovation Birmingham Campus on Wednesday, 6  August and you are invited to join them! The event will be a great opportunity to meet with the group for an evening social event. Food and drinks will be provided, and a number of speakers from Birmingham City Council, Birmingham City University, and wider industry will be joining the crowd to discuss the challenges of achieving a low carbon Birmingham by 2050.   • 5.00pm – 6.00pm Registration and networking (food and drinks will be provided)
  • 6.00pm – 6.30pm ‘The Challenges of Achieving a Low-Carbon Economy in 2050’ Clifford Hill, Regeneration Manager, Birmingham City Council.
  • 6.30pm – 6.45pm ‘Innovations in Bioenergy: Closed-Loop Anaerobic Digestion’ Dr. Lynsey Melville, Director, Centre for Low-Carbon Research, Birmingham City University.
  • 6.45pm – 7.00pm ‘Sustainable Business Models’ David Cole, Director, Smart Innovations Grid Ltd.
