2015-16 Local Authority Information Dissemination Workshops

WRAP is pleased to announce its 2015 workshop programme for Local Authority Waste and Recycling Officers in England. All workshops are in Birmingham City Centre. The workshop topics and dates are as follows:

  • Approaches to Materials Sales – Thursday 10 September 2015 and Wednesday 10 February 2016.

This workshop aims to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills maximise the financial benefit obtained by their authorities for the dry recyclables collected as part of their provision of waste management services.

  • How to collect data to improve the performance of recycling collections– Wednesday 9 September 2015, Wednesday 18 November 2015, Thursday 4 February 2016.

This workshop aims to provide delegates with practical methods for monitor the performance of recycling collection schemes in order to identify what is working well and how schemes can be improved.

  • Optimising Food Waste Collections – Wednesday 30 September 2015, Tuesday 3 November 2015,  Tuesday 9 February 2016.

This workshop aims to provide local authority officers with an understanding of how the performance of their household food waste collection service can be optimised in order to increase the yields of food waste collected and minimise the net costs of that service.

  • Tackling Contamination – Wednesday 2 December 2015, Thursday 3 March 2016.

This workshop aims to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to understand how to maximise the quality and minimise the contamination from their recycling collections. Please note that these workshops are aimed primarily at Local Authorities. Other interested parties are welcome to register interest, though priority will be given to local authority delegates when allocating places. Register on the WRAP website.
