Low Carbon Growth Support Project – free energy audits & funding for equipment and consultancy

The Low Carbon Growth Support Project provides free energy efficiency audits and grants for new equipment and/or consultancy to help reduce your energy bills.

The project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 Programme and delivered by Groundwork West Midlands in partnership with Sustainability West Midlands

The Low Carbon Growth Support Project (LCGSP) is designed to help eligible Small and Medium Enterprises in the Black Country and Greater Birmingham & Solihull areas deliver projects that will increase their energy efficiency, reduce their carbon footprint and, importantly, reduce energy costs. Examples of what can be supported include:

  • Intelligent lighting
  • Combined heating and power
  • Recovery of waste heat
  • Energy efficient process equipment identified during the free Energy Audit, e.g. upgrades or implementation of more energy efficient plant and equipment
  • Many other technologies – please contact us for further information

Groundwork West Midlands offers a FREE Energy Efficiency Audit to review the business energy performance and identify opportunities for improvements.

Following the Audit the business can apply for a grant to part fund a project to implement the recommendations from the Audit. Grants up to £25,000 are available which can cover 40% of the capital cost of new energy-saving equipment and/or around 50% of consultancy costs to take a more in-depth, technical review to identify the most efficient way to reduce your energy costs. The balance of the project costs must be funded by the business.
