Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD)
Based in Birmingham, the BCSD-UK is a national business network and the only affiliated branch in the UK of the World Business Council. It was founded in 1999 by representatives from Shell, Conoco-Phillips, Lafarge, Corus, Rolls-Royce and BP, and others and is now an extensive, multi sectored group and a not-for-profit limited liability company. A highly active organisation, the BCSD-UK runs various programmes in different parts of the country and has several specialist sub-groups run by members, such as the Low Carbon Energy Group run by E.ON supported by Lafarge.
