An Introduction to Skanska sustainable procurement
Purpose of the presentation
This presentation was given at a workshop organised by SWM for National Grid. We asked Skanska to attend and deliver this presentation on their work on sustainable procurement to inspire National Grid and others to take action in this complex area of sustainability.
Relevance to the region
Sustainable procurement is an area of great opportunity and by sharing Skanska's drivers for procuring in a sustainable manner, this can have a great impact of supply chains and other businesses in the West Midlands. Skanska are known for their successful sustainability strategies and their procurement strategies are no different. They have several drivers for this work, including their Code of Conduct, their five zeros campaign and their ambition of becoming 'the leading green project developer and contractor'.
What SWM liked
Following the workshop, we felt it was important to share this presentation as it offers an overview of the six elements of Skanka's sustainable procurement strategy - ideas which other businesses across the West Midlands can learn from and use as part of their business.
