The event

This workshop is aimed at Local Authority officers responsible for supporting Authorities in setting climate change targets. The workshop covers:

  • Calculating a carbon budget for your locality
  • Sharing insights on the process of adopting carbon targets
  • Learning about the next steps on planning and reporting

Tyndall Centre researchers will present and demonstrate a carbon budget setting tool that allows local authorities to set their own carbon targets which are informed by the latest science and meet the objectives of the Paris Climate Change Agreement. Anthesis Group, developers of the SCATTER tool for local authority carbon footprinting and mitigation planning, will be there to provide information on how to translate carbon targets into local strategies. CDP will be there to answer questions on next steps and disclosing your environmental data.
