Our Members > Tarmac
Tarmac is the UK’s leading sustainable building materials group and became a CRH company on 1 August 2015. CRH is the world’s third largest building materials supplier with a solid track and experience in the building industry.
“Sustainability is embedded at the heart of our business, from our vision to our values and strategy. It guides our actions and the way we work. Sustainability matters because it is central to our collective long-term future. Not just for the financial success of Tarmac, but also for the communities in which we work and the environment upon which we all rely. It influences how we work at every level of our business.”
“Tarmac has a significant presence in the West Midlands. Solihull is our main head office site, and along with a smaller site in Ettingshall near Wolverhampton, house several hundred of our staff. Our quarries around the West Midlands (Mancetter, Baysdon Hill, Hints and Alrewas) supply construction materials to the area. Our Construction and Asphalt businesses works with many of the local authorities in the area to provide re-surfacing of roads and pathways.”
“By working closely with our customers, together we can reduce the environmental footprint of projects and deliver innovative, more sustainable solutions.”
SWM very much endorses this ambitious vision and their commitment is reflected in being long-term members.
Our contact is Sharon Palmer, National Environmental Permitting Manager, who is also a SWM Board director.
