Our Team > Amy Bostock

Key responsibilities: Communications (inc. newsletter, social media, website)

My role at SWM is to assist the company with its external communications to keep members, stakeholders and other interested parties updated with information about the activities of SWM, its members, and other important updates that are relevant to the sustainability community. This includes monitoring and posting on Twitter, keeping the website up to date (including with new events and news items), as well as compiling and distributing our monthly newsletter, with a readership of 2,500.

I am an undergraduate student at Coventry University, working towards a BA Human Geography degree. I am currently undergoing my placement year of my course at SWM, aiming to gain a sandwich award, which is offered as part of my degree. Throughout the first 2 years of my degree I have learnt about the importance of sustainable development amongst today’s society, therefore I am very excited to see how this is being implemented throughout the West Midlands during my time at SWM.

My interests especially include the sustainable and ethical implications of the garment industry, and I plan to complete my dissertation on this. Also, in my free time I love to try and lead a healthy lifestyle by cooking and playing in my local netball team, of course with the occasional exception of a chinese takeaway!
