Our Team > Anna Bright
The main purpose of my role is to lead the organisation in line with our mission and vision, and to secure the internal and external resources necessary to achieve this. I manage the day to day operation of SWM and lead on finance, risk, HR, and business planning. I also develop and implementation our strategic plan. As with any small organisation I also provide project delivery and support.
I have worked within the environmental management sector for the past fifteen years and this reflects my personal interest and passion for environmental sustainability. I started working at SWM in 2013 and have been responsible for the operations of the organisation, as well as delivering a range of programme and projects, and coordinating many of our networks.
I was appointed as Trustee of the Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country in December 2018.
Prior to working at SWM I was consultant at the Organic Resource Agency in Worcestershire for over seven years. I was responsible for the delivery of a wide range of projects focussed on the management of organic waste as a resource, via effective collection and treatment. I dealt with national clients in the public and private sector. As well as project delivery I was also responsible for business development and tendering for new opportunities in order to develop the business.
Previously I worked for Severn Trent Water as a key account manager working with many large clients within the West Midlands region from the chemical, textile and engineering sector. As well as managing customer accounts I worked with clients in the identification of water efficiency and monitoring solutions.
I have a post graduate diploma in Water and Environmental Management from the University of Bristol and completed my undergraduate studies in Environmental Biogeoscience at the University of Leeds.
Outside work I am a busy mum to two young boys and enjoy cycling, live music, and holidays!
