Profile

I am retired and live in the Shropshire Hills, just outside Ludlow.

I have a strong technical background, with a degree in Physics and am a Chartered Engineer.

I have spent my professional life in IT looking at the behaviour of large systems and how they interact with their social context and other actors in a situation. It is this ‘system’ approach that is now forming an emerging part of how future energy provision will work in Shropshire.

I am the Chair of Trustees for Zero Carbon Shropshire.

I am also a Director of Ludlow 21 and lead its energy working group, and am a Trustee of Hands Together Ludlow, the local community volunteer group.

I am Chair for the Shropshire Climate Action Trustee board, am Chair of its Steering Group and lead its Energy Working Group.

Additionally, I have been a beekeeper for over thirty years and still teach at the local group. I spend six years as a Trustee of the British Beekeeping Association, chairing their Education sub-committee.
