Profile

Perminder is a Chartered Surveyor with over 25 years of experience across; private practice, public sector and freelancing. In this time, he has built up a wealth of skills in; land management, environmental schemes, renewables and broad range sustainability/ climate change matters. 

During his early career as a Minerals and Waste Management surveyor, he took great pride in creating wildlife habitats through site reclamation of quarrying and landfill activities.  After many years, he pivoted into delivering active travel corridors for greater community social mobility, highway safety schemes, and air quality related matters before pivoting again to his current role.  He is now Head of Net Zero (Green Cities and Circular Economy) at City of Wolverhampton Council, with an extensive remit including but not limited to; decarbonisation, renewable energies, climate resilience, built environment and range of policy engagements working closely with WMCA and other key regional and national stakeholders.

Volunteering is dear to Perminder, for which he has been a strong advocate since the 1990’s. Initially, a Conservation Field Operative, then into Community Engagement prior to becoming a School Governor for 12 years and also Committee Member of Local Access Forum for 9 years. In addition to Non-Executive Board Member of Sustainability West Midlands, he also visits; schools, colleges, corporate events and interest groups on behalf of the global charity WaterAid highlighting pressing need for Clean Water, Good Hygiene and Decent Toilets.
