Perminder is Head of Green Cities and Circular Economy at City of Wolverhampton Council.
Profile
Perminder is a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years of operating in private practice, public sector and freelancing. In this time has built up a wealth of experience in environmental and sustainability projects. He started his career in the aggregates and waste management sectors, then transitioned into land reclamation and creation of wildlife habitats before spending serval years delivering highway safety schemes and active travel corridors. In his current role as Head of Green Cities and Circular Economy at City of Wolverhampton Council, his remit includes decarbonisation, green energy, retro-fit, air quality, surplus materials/ built environment, climate adaption and policy engagement.
In addition to his professional roles, he also qualified as a gymnastic coach and went on to establish a successful gymnastics club (which regrettably forced to permanently close owing to impacts of the Covid Pandemic).
Volunteering has been a core part of his life, to which since the 1990’s he has devoted considerable time. Initially, as a Conservation Field Operative, then in Community Engagement prior to a School Governor and also Committee Member of the Warwickshire Coventry and Solihull Local Access Forum. Currently he creates time to visit schools, colleges, corporate events and interest groups highlighting the narrative relating to Clean Water, Decent Toilets and Good Hygiene as a Public Speaker for WaterAid.
