My role as an SWM associate is to advise on communications strategy, planning and content.
Profile
I am a communications consultant with wide experience in the business sector working with engineering, technology and corporate clients, from large firms to SMEs.
I started my career in business communications working for PR agencies in the South East and the Midlands. I founded the specialist PR agency Black & White Communications and ran it for eight years before selling to Freshwater in 2006.
These days, as a freelancer, I focus on strategy, planning and the creation of specialist content. I work with all sorts of organisations but particularly those with technical or complex stories to tell. I am good at teasing out clarity and shaping stories that resonate with defined audiences.
My specialist areas are engineering, technology, industry, innovation, business and leadership, corporate culture, environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
I have an MSc in Social Responsibility and Sustainability from Aston Business School and a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Southampton. I am an Accredited Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
I live and work in central Birmingham and really enjoy being close to the culture and buzz of city life. I like to escape it sometimes too, to go walking in the Midlands countryside and further afield whenever I can. I love to travel, am a dedicated fan of hot yoga and good food and will admit to enjoying the occasional TV box set.
