The Event
We want the care system to be generous and affordable: to provide a humane response to its citizens, without forcing its employees into foodbanks.
In 2017, Localise West Midlands and the New Economics Foundation wrote a report on our ideas about how this sector could function better, and how by changing our view of the foundational economy we could turn this ‘cost’ into an opportunity for inclusive growth.
The problems continue to rumble on, so we wanted to revisit the arguments made, update these with the latest thinking, and have a joint discussion with you about how we make a better system a reality in the West Midlands.
The original paper can be found here:

The ‘talk’ part of the evening will last from 6:30-7pm; before and after this you’re welcome to join us for general discussion & networking. Please bring along your questions and ideas!
Hosted by Localise West Midlands & the Warehouse Cafe – food is served 8:30pm on a Thursday; drinks available until close.
