This summer the climate crisis made itself felt in Shropshire, the UK and around the globe. At home and at work. And it’s not going away.
By acting now your business can identify and prepare for the challenges ahead. This fully funded, interactive, workshop enables you and your teams to understand how carbon literacy can help you avoid risk and create benefits to your business enabling you to:

What on earth is Carbon Literacy?
“An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis”
We know the subject can feel daunting – this is new terrain for most of us. This workshop will give you the science bits you need to know to identify the risks in your value chain. With this knowledge you can make informed decisions on planning and adaptation for your enterprise.
The workshop – what will be covered?
- Understanding of what carbon literacy is
- Understand how climate change impacts on how we live and work
- Identify the risks to your value chain
- Knowledge to influence others and change the way decisions are made within your organisation
- How you can make changes within your company to reduce the risks and impacts of climate change
- Practical, positive, take-home steps that you and your teams can take
- A positive message on how you can put climate change at the forefront of what you do
Online sessions – what are the benefits of attending?
Getting started with your plan can be challenging and two, 1-hour, on-line workshops offer additional support where you can talk to SMEs in the same position as you and get additional information and support to keep you on track.

Carbon Literacy Certification
The 1 day accredited workshop and 2 online sessions, will cover the fundamental requirements to become certified as carbon literate.
To qualify for the Carbon Literacy Certification you will need to attend all three sessions. The Carbon Literacy Trust charges £10 for certification. (The cost of registration is not covered by event organisers)
