The event
For BESST’s inaugural breakfast event of 2014, in partnership with Metnet, we have pulled out all the stops and have secured a renowned guest speaker, Peter Braithwaite, Chair of Sustainability West Midlands and Head of Sustainability at the London 2012 Olympics to talk about his role at the Games. As Head of Sustainability for CH2M Hill, Peter was responsible for fulfilling the Olympics’ vision of a sustainable legacy that provided national benefits in the form of culture, sport, business, and tourism. Five sustainable concepts were considered throughout the project including climate change, waste, biodiversity, inclusion, and healthy living. We will hear how Peter and his team achieved new sustainability standards for a project this size, and how they raised the bar for the industry as a whole.
