If you travel into Birmingham for work or leisure, you may want to find out more about its new Clean Air Zone. Birmingham City Council is introducing the zone on 1 June 2021 to tackle dangerously high levels of air pollution in the city.
Only owners of the most high-polluting vehicles will have to pay a charge to travel through the zone. This is unlike a congestion charge (such as in London) which charges every vehicle to enter a designated area.
To help people who do not live in the zone, but may need to travel through it for work or leisure, free webinars are available to give details of how you may be affected and the support available.
Webinars provided by Birmingham City Council are as follows:
- 16 February 2021 – 12:00-13:00
I work in the Birmingham Clean Air Zone; How will it affect me?
A free webinar for people who travel into work in Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone talking about how it may impact them and the support available.
- 17 February 2021 – 09:00-10:00
