5 – 7 June 2010
Birmingham’s Centenary Square
Birmingham City Council in partnership with Be Birmingham
Everyone is welcome. Businesses are encouraged to showcase their environmental credentials.
The event itself
Events are focussed around World Environment Day on Saturday 5 June. The festival will include a Green Roadshow with solar and wind powered rides and stalls, a solar powered music stage, an Ethical and Fair Trade market.
There will also be information for businesses and residents on cutting carbon pollution, reducing waste, and promoting active healthy lifestyles. The Climate Change Festival forms part of the council target to cut carbon emissions by 60 per cent by 2026 compared to 1990 levels, and ambitious targets announced as part of the Birmingham Declaration.
The high profile event will highlight the good work already underway in the city, and provide a platform for businesses to showcase their environmental objectives.
