The Event
Julia King, Baroness Brown of Cambridge, delivers the annual Boulton and Watt Lecture on the theme of ‘Addressing Climate Change: People, Technology and Policy’. Organised by The Lunar Society, the Lecture is delivered with the kind support of Aston University.
Baroness Brown is chair of the Carbon Trust chairs the Trust’s Climate Change Committee’s Adaptation Sub-Committee and acts as the UK’s Low Carbon Business Ambassador.
She is Chair of the Sir Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials, a Non-Executive Director of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult and a Council member of Innovate UK. A Fellow of both the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society, her previous roles include a decade spent as the Vice-Chancellor of Aston University, serving as Principal of the Engineering Faculty at Imperial College, London, and a series of senior business and engineering posts at Rolls-Royce plc.
