Target audience
Businesses of all sizes are welcome. Staff with responsibility for risk management, business continuity and/or health and safety may find this workshop particularly relevant.
The event itself
This free half-day workshop will focus on how severe weather can affect your business and how you can increase your resilience to it. Severe weather covered will include flooding, snow, drought and heat waves.
The past year has been notable for severe weather events both at home and abroad, affecting businesses’ premises, operations, supply chains, logistics, staff, markets, finances and insurance. This workshop is an opportunity to gain relevant information, and discuss the issues with other local businesses.
The workshop will include expert speakers on:
- the business impacts of severe weather, and what climate change could mean for your business
- business continuity planning
- flood risk mapping and flood warnings
- the health and safety implications of severe weather and climate change.
Discussions and interactive exercises will help participants identify the key threats and opportunities for their organisation, and the practical actions they can take to make their business more resilient.
