West Midlands based businesses, particularly those:

  • With potential to diversify/expand into this sector (e.g. manufacturers, consultants and service businesses)
  • Interested to find out more about the funding and support opportunities available for entering into renewable energy supply chains

The event itself

What are the opportunities in the renewable energy sector? How can my business benefit? What support is available? How do we access funding? What are the first steps?

‘Building the Chain’ aims to answer these questions by presenting some of the key support opportunities available to businesses seeking to enter or expand into the renewable energy sector:

The Renewable Energy Supply Chain Opportunities (RESCO) programme was established in 2009 to provide businesses in the West Midlands with the support they need to enter or expand into the supply chain markets of low carbon and renewable energy technologies. RESCO can offer West Midlands firms a range of benefits, from direct business support to targeted information and networking opportunities.

West Midlands EU Connects provides individual support and guidance on European funding programmes to any organisation regardless of sector or size. Fully funded by Europe and the region, advice is available on project ideas, to find partners and complete the application process for submission. Several programmes offer business support for renewable energy technologies and supply chains including INTERREG, LIFE+, Eco Innovation, and the Intelligent Energy Europe programme – Europe’s specific funding mechanism for sustainable energy initiatives.
