The event
In the wake of the UN Paris talks last December and the upcoming UN World Environment Day (5 June), there is an ever increasing global recognition of the urgent need to address climate change and resource scarcity issues, resilience, social sustainability and thus the future for business in a changed global arena. The symposium will move beyond traditional, linear, open-loop strategy, to pursue innovative closed-loop business solutions and strategies that are grounded in strategic management and business sustainability theory, such as transitional and transformational strategies, cradle-to-cradle and the circular economy. These will go some way towards helping us develop a greener, more stable and more sustainable economy, and will provide a more positive future vision for business. The symposium will take place in a collaborative and cooperative setting and will provide plenty of time for the discussion and sharing of best practice. Aston Business School will also inaugurate a new Sustainable Business Research Club for practitioners, academics and policy makers that will facilitate the sharing of knowledge, experiences, activities and aspirations. There will be a small fee for the day of £35.00 to cover administration and catering costs, lunch is included.
