The Event

In June 2019, the Government said it was the first major economy in the world to pass laws to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.

SMEs make up 90% of business worldwide and support the lives of over 2 billion people and therefore the UK Government has encouraging all SMEs to pledge to cut their emissions to net zero by 2050 or sooner and ‘lead the charge to net zero’.

But where do you start as an SME?

SMEs include all businesses from one-man bands to up to 250 employees. With 63% of SMEs surveyed by the SME Climate hub stated the lack of knowledge and skills preventing them from taking climate action.

The ARLI (Alternative Raw Materials with Low Impact) Project, has been set up by The University of Birmingham to support SMEs run more sustainably through limiting the use of raw materials, waste and developing low carbon solutions.

To support your business, bridge the knowledge gap, ARLI are offering eligible* SMEs a fully funded masterclass in Carbon Footprinting in partnership with Tunley Engineering.
