Carbon Literacy and Circular Economy for the Construction Sector EnTRESS

The Event

With the UK construction industry facing significant challenges including the need to become more sustainable, reduce environmental impact and adopt circular economy practices there is an imperative for industry professionals to be conversant with developments and at the forefront of change.

What is Carbon Literacy?

β€œAn awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.” – The Carbon Literacy Project.

Today, over 53,600 individuals from over 4,071 organisations are Carbon Literate – are you ready to join them?

Why attend a Carbon Literacy Workshop?*

Our one day Carbon Literacy workshop uniquely introduces the Circular Economy to Carbon Literacy, ensuring participants will gain an understanding of how circular strategies and practices can reduce carbon emissions.

The workshop will help you understand the basics of climate change science, what is already happening globally and locally, how emissions associated with your actions may be affecting climate change and what you, as an individual, can do to help.

You will discuss ways in which you can reduce your impact and the benefits of doing so. You will also hear about some of the excellent things others are already doing, including construction sector examples, to reduce their carbon emissions. You will also find out how to motivate and inspire those around you, including gaining the confidence to express your Carbon Literacy to others.

On completion of the workshop you are encouraged to apply for Carbon Literacy accreditation from the Carbon Literacy Project.

All support is fully funded for eligible businesses

The day will be led by Debbie Ward, EnTRESS Knowledge Transfer Manager who is a Certified Carbon Literacy Trainer and founder of Cirklo Consult Ltd.
