The Event
The UK construction industry is facing significant challenges including the need to reduce environmental impact, deliver social value and remain competitive. There is an imperative for industry professionals to understand how climate change, carbon emissions and the circular economy is relevant to the operation of their business, and how they work with their stakeholders and wider supply chain.
With a growing understanding of the effects of the carbon emissions that humans create through everyday activities, Carbon Literacy is a crucial component in understanding how individuals and organisations can take steps to reduce their carbon footprint.
This course by Cirklo Consult aims to increase understanding of the basics of climate change science, what is already happening globally and locally, how emissions associated with the construction sector are affecting climate change and what individuals, or organisations, can do to help.
Participants will gain an understanding of how circular strategies and practices can reduce carbon emissions. Ways in which individual impact can be reduced will also be discussed, and the benefits of doing so; hear about some of the excellent initiative’s others are already doing to reduce their carbon emissions; and find out how to motivate and inspire others.
