The Event

This masterclass is part of a series of events run by the Coventry University Clean Futures Catalyst programme.

Clean Futures offers this masterclass in collaboration with Sustainability West Midlands. The masterclass will be delivered by Anna Bright SWM Chief Executive.

Effective risk management is vital for SME resilience and businesses must develop strategies to mitigate risks including climate change.

Climate change will impact businesses through shifting temperatures and weather patterns causing disruption to business operations and day-to-day tasks, and through regulations that increase the cost of being an unsustainable business.

Building resilience in SMEs requires a multifaceted approach that involves adaptability, sustainability, technology adoption, and risk management. SMEs that address and prioritise these strategies will be better equipped to navigate challenges both now and into the future and will have a better chance of long-term success and growth.

Agenda for this event:
  • Identifying risks such as climate change and extreme weather, cyber attacks, and energy supply interruption
  • Identifying impacts such as supply chain disruptions and regulatory non-compliance
  • Mitigation strategies such as contingency planning, sustainable and circular procurement practices, adoption of new technologies, insurance, innovation and investment in resilience
  • National and local policy implications for business
  • Inspiring case studies from local businesses
  • Your needs: Group discussion on challenges and support required#Where to go for help and support
  • Signposting to further masterclasses for support
