The Event

This masterclass is part of a series of events run by the Coventry University Clean Futures Catalyst programme.

Join this free masterclass to learn more about the business benefits of becoming more sustainable. Clean Futures offers this masterclass in collaboration with Sustainability West Midlands.

The masterclass will be delivered by SWM Chief Executive Anna Bright.

Sustainable procurement means considering environmental, social and governance (ESG) elements when buying products or services. This can include buying locally, from suppliers that demonstrate positive sustainability credentials, sourcing products with minimal packaging that can be easily reused or recycled, and buying from organisations that can demonstrate ethical practices. This can have a direct impact on Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions.

You’ll leave this masterclass with an appreciation of the ways that procurement can be a powerful instrument for businesses wanting to behave in a more sustainable way and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By integrating sustainability in procurement policies and practices organisations can manage risks for sustainable environmental, social and economic development and help to drive innovation.
