The event

A programme of forthcoming training events will help many more people learn how to use, and apply Climate Just in practice, a powerful online tool that enables public service providers to identify who is most socially vulnerable to extreme weather. The Climate Just website and map tool was launched in February 2015 and has had well over 10,000 visitors since. Some 200 people participated in user testing and preview events before the launch. The training and development programme aims to increase the number of people who are comfortable in using and applying the tool in practice to help reduce the risks to vulnerable groups. There will be a workshop in the morning for those that have not used the tool before, and an event in the afternoon will be for those who attended this year’s training or who are more familiar with the tool.  You only need to book onto one workshop. Note that there are various equivalent workshops happening across the country, so if you cannot make the Birmingham date, others are available.

Audience

The target audience includes Policy Officers, Service Managers, Emergency Planners, Spatial Planners, Public Health Teams and Researchers in local authorities, housing associations, NHS Trusts, Government Agencies, Health & Social Care providers and Voluntary Sector organisations.  Members of WM Sustainable Development Officers Network, WM Public Health Network and WM NHS Sustainability Network will find these of particular interest.
