The Event
Are you a trust, charity or community group looking to tackle climate change in your area?
Join the Midlands Net Zero Hub at their Community Energy Fund webinar to learn how to turn your green energy dreams into reality!
Through the Community Energy Fund, community groups have the opportunity to receive up to £140,000 of grant funding for a local energy project. Following a successful first round that has seen 14 community groups awarded grant funding, the Midlands Net Zero Hub is managing the second round of funding on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
The funding will kickstart community-owned clean energy projects by looking into the feasibility of small-scale wind farms, rooftop solar partnerships, battery storage, heat networks, and more. The possibilities are endless.
The funding will be used to investigate the technical and financial viability of a project and establishing detailed investigations, planning applications to produce a business case for capital investment.
Find out more about the Community Energy Fund and how to apply here.
The closing date for applications for this round of funding will be:
- 04 June 2024
- 13 September 2024
- 08 November 2024
Come along to find out what you need to apply, if you qualify, and top tips for a great application from the team that will help you along the journey.
Expanding into urban areas following the success of the Rural Community Energy Fund, the Midlands Net Zero Hub is particularly keen to see applications from more populated areas that show ambition to create an innovative project that goes against the urban grain – inner city sustainable living with community owned energy generation.
To support community groups to find out more about the Community Energy Fund, the Midlands Net Zero Hub are hosting two webinars:
- Tuesday 07 May – 12:00 – 13:00
- Thursday 09 May 19:00 – 20:00
