The Event
The Transport Team at Coventry City Council is running the second in their series of interactive webinars alongside the Green Business Programme Team, which will be providing insight into the success the City is having in putting sustainable transport infrastructure in place.
This webinar will be outlining the plans for the Coventry Station project that has been developed to deliver new infrastructure to meet current and projected future passenger growth. Coventry railway station is one of the fastest-growing stations outside London. The existing railway station is Grade II listed which means there is limited scope for creating additional capacity within the existing station building. Using funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority and the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership Growth Deal we are investing £82million to improve accessibility and capacity.
Speakers from Coventry City Council will provide an overview on the work that is well underway, including details on new transport infrastructure in and out of the station to enable more sustainable travel routes for pedestrians, cyclists and buses.
There will also be details provided around funding and grants which are available for small and medium-sized organisations (SMEs) who want to adopt energy-efficient low carbon processes through the Coventry & Warwickshire Green Business Programme, including details about an additional £1.25m which is available for local businesses.
