The event
SWM member Fit for the Future Network is offering an exciting opportunity to their members to visit Thoresby Estate in Nottinghamshire to see their renewable heat technologies in action find out how they are renovating and reducing energy in their heritage farm buildings. The site visit will include:
- Renewable heat technologies – learn about the woodchip enterprise and see the woodchip barn and biomass boiler in action
- Reducing energy in heritage buildings – a focus on the challenges of renovating and improving accessibility in listed buildings, including:
- Thoresby Home Farm, a conversion of a Grade II listed farmstead into offices – woodchip biomass boiler, Thermblock insulation
- Grade II listed Almshouses – Ground Source Heat Pump
- Refurbishment of Meden Cottage – plans for a bivalent heating system solution
- Woodland management and conservation – go on a tour of the ancient oaks of Sherwood Forest
- Lunch, refreshments and plenty of time for networking

Cancellation Policy: This event is free however there will be a cancellation fee of £60 for those that cancel within ten days of booking. This is so that others who may be on the waiting list have the opportunity to attend. Members can find a replacement within their organisation.
