Delivering Net Zero – The Positive Impact of Data Driven Solutions

The Event

This event aims to inform stakeholders in the wider construction and housing sectors, including policy makers, commissioners, builders and installers. It will share results from recent R&D activity and provide networking opportunities.

Birmingham City University (BCU) has been working extensively with industry and housing organisations to better understand how the use of data can best apply sustainability principles to retrofit approaches and contribute to the Future Homes Standard. This event will bring you fully up to speed with the latest insights.

Following a topical introduction and welcome from Building Alliance CEO Mike Leonard, delegates will see a number of real-life case studies including:

  • 12 new-build properties designed and completed to Future Homes Standard in Birmingham’s Eco Drive with industry partners Midland Heart and Tricas
  • Engagement with residents in new homes to understand and measure success factors for new homes with Covatic
  • Development of a brand new building simulation and modelling software application by BCU’s School of Computing
  • Using Design Builder to improve retrofit recommendations
  • How the use of AR/VR can add value and support to the construction industry
  • Carbon analysis to help reduce carbon emissions in the housebuilding sector with WHG Ltd

For those who wish to learn more after the event, there will be an opportunity to register for a FREE (for eligible organisations) CPD training course in June on the subject of ‘Data Analytics for Sustainability.’

This symposium is provided by the ERDF-funded Ecrofit Project.
