The event
SWM member, University of Wolverhampton, are joining forces with the Built EnvironmentKTN to delivery this free one-day Energy Saving Convention. The question posed is “Are we all doing enough?” The public sector and social landlords have been tackling energy saving within their planned maintenance programmes, with this representing just 18% of the UK housing stock and private rented housing accounting for 20% of housing stock by 2020. Have you considered what is happening to the estimated 64% of UK housing in the hands of individual homeowners? Whatever it is, it’s certainly not enough and engagement is key! The Energy Saving Convention will examine the opportunities available, as well as the barriers that need to be addressed, to accelerate energy efficiency adoption in the UK. The conference will observe interaction between delegates at “information tables” based on the subject of energy efficiency within the Built Environment.
