The Event
DELIVERING A BETTER ENVIRONMENT FOR THE UK?
CHALLENGES FOR A NEW AND EFFECTIVE ENVIRONMENTAL FRAMEWORK
EARLY BIRD RATE EXTENDED UNTIL THE 4TH OCTOBER 2019.
The context for this year’s conference is the degree of uncertainty surrounding Government plans for a new Environmental Bill while the future extent of alignment between the UK’s and Europe’s environmental policies remains unclear. Conference will consider the challenges of ensuring adequate protection for the environment in the Government’s new Environmental Bill as well as the adequacy of the powers of the new watchdog, the Office for Environment Protection.
Despite this uncertainty about environmental policy for the future, today the challenge of delivering environmental protection for all in the UK continues to be the focus of work for Local Authorities and other bodies involved in delivering environmental protection. In addition to the keynote talks, special sessions on air quality, land quality and noise, will give updates on current issues in environmental protection. The programme is planned to ensure lively discussion in the conference sessions and many opportunities for networking and viewing the exhibition and displays.
