The event
Fair Futures is a programme to understand the issues faced by different vulnerable energy consumers and identify the areas where commercial, governmental, community and householder needs and motivations could be aligned to provide more effective policies, products and services. The workshop is intended to take us beyond the next year or two and to widen our thinking to what services would help vulnerable energy consumers in the years to come. Fuel poverty is no single organisation’s responsibility, so the response is fragmented and ineffective – its been so for years. Billions are being spent across sectors (housing, health, energy) to support these households and deal with the consequences of their struggle to afford adequate energy. It is difficult for these players to have constructive conversations about how to make progress that is driven by the consumer’s needs. This will be followed by Battery storage, electric vehicles and new energy system financial models with presentations by Cenex and others.
