The event itself

The day will consist of:

  • A morning walk along Wembrook Trail to identify, learn and pick edible, wild plants
  • Plant identification with information sheets
  • Cooking and eating our harvest for lunch including making salads and bread
  • A chance to ask questions on preparing and using our wild plants for food and medicine

 

Expert, Christopher Hope BSc Med Hort will be the guide for this event. Christopher will cover legal issues, sustainability, harvesting do’s and don’ts, poisonous plants, and various aspects of how and where to forage.

This event is free but the organisers would ask for a minimum donation of £5 to cover the costs.

Places are limited, and should be booked on the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens website.
