The event
Birmingham Friends of the Earth are hosting a beach party in the beautiful, recently opened Digbeth Community Garden. Even though Birmingham is a landlocked city the sea still has a huge impact on our daily lives, just as we have a massive impact on the marine environment. This beach themed party will be a great opportunity to learn a bit more about the key issues that surround ocean conservation and why they are important for us, as well as having a lot of fun! There will be all manner of seaside themed party games, quizzes and activities to get involved with, including ocean fact fishing, a sea quiz and making (things out of) rubbish competition! Don’t forget to come in beach-themed outfits for the fancy dress competition. There are also some fantastic prizes to be won! There will be a small BBQ and drinks available, but remember to bring your own food and drink to avoid disappointment. If you play an instrument, why not bring it along and have a jam? Although the event is free, we are asking people who attend to make a donation of around £2 per person.
