The Event

Footsteps have organised this workshop specifically for faith communities to share the benefits of using heat pumps in place of gas boilers.

This workshop will particularly be looking at using heat pumps in homes, as part of ‘fabric first’ insulation approaches. It will include a visit to see a heat pump in situ at Shivaji & Magdalen’s house. Plus an optional visit to Cotteridge Quaker Meeting House that has been using heat pumps for over 14 years as its main heating system.

This is a Footsteps ‘cross-city’ event, in partnership with Phil Beardmore from Birmingham Green Doors. MECC in Balsall Heath have told Footsteps of the need for impartial information about heat pumps for local community members.

Installers are promoting Government grants for heat pump installation but not always providing advice on the installation issues involved. This is your chance to ask questions to impartial experts and people who are using heat pumps themselves.

Learn from Phil Beardmore, Birmingham Green Doors, and others about:

  • Benefits of heat pumps.
  • The importance of heat pump sizing, flow rates, and flow temperatures.
  • Noise levels and Permitted Development.
  • Radiator and pipework change.
  • Available Government grants.
Agenda:

  • 10:30 – 13:00. Main Workshop.
