The event

Devolution presents a unique opportunity to address some of key problems faced by British city regions. How to stem the flow of talent, skills and graduates towards London? How to promote the economic independence and sustainability of our cities? These are the questions that devolution must answer. Join DevoConnect and City REDI for an evening of discussion and debate with speakers presenting their understanding of the impact that devolution will have on city regions. This is also another chance to hear from some of the Mayoral Candidates following our Annual Conference in November 2016. Invited panel include: – Andy Street, Conservative candidate for West Midlands Mayor – James Burn, Green Party candidate for West Midlands Mayor – Beverley Nielsen, former regional CBI director and Liberal Democrat candidate for West Midlands Mayor – Andrew Carter, Deputy Chief Executive for the Centre for Cities –  Professor Simon Collinson, Director of the City-Region Economic Development Institute, University of Birmingham – Maria Machancoses, Programme Director of Midlands Connect The event will be followed by a drinks reception.
