The event itself
This will be a hands-on session allowing planning officers the opportunity to work out energy and carbon data for renewable energy technologies, work through examples of Energy and Carbon Statements, and assess whether they sufficiently meet the needs of the policy requirement. It will focus on energy technologies for individual buildings and small developments, and will cover:
- Carbon or Energy statements for buildings / developments
- What’s a reasonable number?
- What can you expect a developer to provide?
- Low carbon technology worked exercises
- Energy statements – worked exercises
- Using the Enplanner toolkit
Please bring a calculator! We will not be covering the technical aspects and suitability of different renewable technologies during these sessions. You will be expected to have sufficient understanding of this, from previous experience or the In-depth Session: Low Carbon Technologies for Individual Buildings.
