The event
The ‘Influence Labs’ are opportunities for businesses we are supporting to ‘Pitch’ their innovation or product to an influential group who have expertise in various areas who will share their views about how the business could develop or improve. Ultimately future funding for these businesses is dependent on how they turn the outcomes from the Influence Lab into actions and solutions. There will be four ‘Labs’ with the themes, in date order, of Process, Water, Renewables and Consumables with a general agenda general agenda. Examples of the businesses that will pitch are an innovative turbine technology that does not harm fish and another that captures heat from waste water. Most are involved in energy/sustainability solutions in some form. Innovation Birmingham actively look to work with and bring together the public and private sectors, creating interfaces for people with ideas, technologies, expertise, experience, and money. It is a one-stop-shop for innovators, entrepreneurs and investors looking to develop or fund tech start-ups with high growth potential. The Campus strategy is about encouraging people to visit and engage with the businesses based there, so that the missing aspects of the puzzle leading to a successful venture can be solved, ultimately helping innovators and tech entrepreneurs to succeed.
