The Event
The construction and demolition sector is the biggest creator of waste in the economy, and the creation of new materials for construction is a significant contributor to carbon emissions.
Following from the last IZCWG meeting which explored circular economy principles and the WMCA Circular Economy Roadmap, this meeting will showcase a range of businesses who are offering circular products or services for the construction sector.
Innovators with good ideas for increasing circularity in the built environment, and stakeholders who need to improve their practices with new ideas are invited to come along for a good discussion, networking, and potential collaboration.
Confirmed Speakers:
- Abi Ceney – Q-Flow. Q-Flow helps collect real-time materials and waste data at source for more informed decision making about cost, carbon and quality.
- Debbie Ward – The Rebuild Site. The Rebuild Site takes surplus materials from construction sites for reuse elsewhere.
- Ian Humphreys – International Synergies. International Synergies’ expertise in industrial symbiosis allows them to work with private and public sectors to transition to a more circular economy.
- Kelly Botham – Innovate UK KTN. Kelly is Knowledge Transfer Manager for Net Zero, and will discuss the Circular Economy Innovation Network.
