The event
This is one of several satellite events around the country linking live to the London launch of the Adaptation Sub Committee’s latest report to Parliament, organised by Climate UK in association with the ASC. The Birmingham event is hosted by Sustainability West Midlands. Lord Krebs, Chair of the Committee on Climate Change’s Adaptation Sub-Committee (ASC) will be launching the report, which investigates the threats and opportunities for the country from climate change, focusing on the risks to infrastructure, business and public health. It will also update previous analysis on flooding, and consider the current capacity in the emergency response system to handle climate extremes. Lord Krebs will present the findings of the analysis and this will be followed by an opportunity for you to join a discussion on the implications to future policy and priorities for further adaptation. The audience for this event will be local adaptation network members and stakeholders. Of particular interest are those responsible for infrastructure, transport and utilities; businesses resilience and continuity, flood risk management, public health and climate change adaptation — in the public, private and HE sectors.
