The event
The Meres and Mosses area contains a higher concentration of field ponds than anywhere else in Europe and provides a vital habitat for many endangered species such as the white-faced darter and the raft spider – Britain’s biggest spider! The bog is also home to vulnerable species such as the water vole and adder. Surrounding land has been acquired by Shropshire Wildlife Trust who aim to return it to a landscape which supports wildlife and that people can enjoy. Come along to see the conservation efforts so far.
