The Event
Energy Systems Catapult’s next UK Local Authority Webinar aims to explore how IUK’s £100m investment into the Prospering from the Energy Revolution (PfER) programme has assisted in the delivery of innovative local energy projects. Their keynote speakers will be from IUK, with UK Local Authorities and partners presenting case studies on the impact of the PFER programme, and how others can benefit from their experience. This will help facilitate discussion around the following topics:
- How have they used, or are planning to use, the experience and outputs from the PfER programme to leverage more investment by, or for, the local authority in local energy projects.
- How the PFER programme has led to more local energy projects being taken forward in their area.
- How ‘smart local energy projects’ can realise community benefits and help the local authority tackle their wider objectives such as clean air, fuel poverty or jobs and skills.
- The role of private sector engagement with the local authorities to deliver the projects.
The organisers hope that by hearing about the programme, and the benefits gained by the UK Councils involved, other local authorities and their partners will be able to see how they can also build projects which will be beneficial to their communities, as they drive towards Net Zero.
