The event

The policy landscape for communities has changed significantly under the new government. This Regen Communities event will help groups to evaluate new business models and funding options, as well as understand how connections are a key element of renewable energy developments and the huge impact and opportunities they can present. We aim to help groups understand how to navigate grid issues, find out how they can work together with Western Power Distribution (WPD) to secure a grid connection and what the innovative options are if there is currently no affordable capacity. It’s about finding solutions and getting inspired to think outside the box. Sessions include:

  • Funding options and new business models
  • Innovative solutions to grid constraints including smart technologies
  • Local supply options
  • Changing government policy
  • How the electricity network works and a guide to getting connected.

The event is free of charge for community energy groups, local authorities and Regen members, this event is supported by WPD.
