The Event
Midcounties is delighted to be working with environmentalist Cal Major (recently seen on BBC’s Springwatch) and support her bike tour to show the screening of the film of her latest expedition “Vitamin Sea”. This film follows Cal’s two month journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats, the length of mainland UK, by stand up paddleboard. The film focusses on the positive solutions to plastic pollution, including the importance of community, connection to nature, and protecting our wellbeing through time outside.
Coop Midcounties are delighted that Cal is stopping off in Walsall and giving this great opportunity to also link up with the ‘Walsall Against Single Use Plastics’ Campaign.
At the event you will have the opportunity to:
- Discuss the opportunities to reduce waste and single use plastic locally
- Learn about the inspiring initiative in place in the Walsall area, including the “Walsall Against Single Use Plastic Campaign” created by Professor Getrad, OBE, Deputy Lieutenant and how businesses and groups can get involved
- find out about the Midcounties 1Change campaign, learning more about what Co-op Midcounties are doing to reduce single use plasticsand how you can get involved
- have your say to enable local initiatives to be developed to reduce waste and single use plastics
- network and connect with community groups involved in environmental sustainability projects
