The event
The Association of Directors of Public Health West Midlands and Public Health England West Midlands are delighted to invite you to the 2015 Excellence in Public Health Event “Connecting Public Health across the West Midlands – Creating opportunities, Celebrating success and Strengthening Partnerships” The event aims to bring together the public health family across the West Midlands regardless of their organisational setting to celebrate our successes, share learning and most importantly consider how we can work more effectively together within the new system architecture. Key note speakers include: Dr John Middleton, Vice President of the Faculty of Public Health and former Director of Public Health at Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council; Professor Jane Moore, Director of Public Health, Coventry City Council/ Coventry University and Dr Jim McManus Director of Public Health at Hertfordshire County Council. Workshop sessions The day will include a number of interactive workshops sessions which will provide opportunity for more in-depth discussion and exploration of case studies. Topics areas include Healthy Ageing, Early years, Reducing violence, Public Mental Health, Commissioning for Value, etc. Market place of ideas A poster display session will run over lunch time and participants will have the opportunity to network, share promising practice, local successes and learning. If you wish to submit a poster please submit details when you register for the conference. Who should attend? Public health staff (practitioners, specialists including analysts in local authorities, NHS, CCGs, academia, Public Health England).
