The event itself
Retro Expo will define the widest and most comprehensive display of technology applications for retrofit and refurbishment within the built environment. It will incorporate: The Green Deal Summit, Green Deal Buyer’s Forum and InstallerLive.
The UK has made a commitment to reduce its carbon emissions by 80% by 2050 and the built environment is expected to account for about half of this reduction.
This will involve some form of refurbishment to 26 million homes and two million non-domestic buildings – a programme that it is estimated will cost £400 billion over the next 40 years. The scale of such a programme is unprecedented in both the challenge and opportunity it provides.
This event is aimed at showcasing the different scale of activity that can be undertaken, ranging from low cost work on walls, loft and floors, through to radical renovations of the whole structure.
Retro Expo will host 200 exhibitors and welcome several thousand visitors across three open days, with the Sunday open to the public.
The Green Deal Summit – the definitive conference on The Green Deal is aimed at senior-level stakeholders. With a theme of Turning Green Deal Vision in to Reality, the Summit focuses on making the market work for all concerned, creating a shared plan of action and a sense of common purpose. Key speakers will include Government Ministers, leading Green Deal Providers, Local Authority Chief Executives, international thought-leaders and inspirational speakers from outside of the industry.
Green Deal Buyer’s Forum – designed to connect large-scale buyers of goods and services under The Green Deal with manufacturers and service suppliers. The Forum will provide diarised appointments for over 100 buyers in one-to-one meetings. Buyers will be from main contractors, local authorities, registered social landlords, specifiers, commercial clients and end users, as well as merchants and Green Deal Providers. This service is offered free of charge to sponsors of Retro Expo at Bronze level and above.
InstallerLive – is the national plumbing, heating and renewables show, delivering a skills and educational programme of unprecedented quality, addressing the needs of domestic and commercial installers across the UK.
