Scope 3 Emissions and Decarbonising business models of SMEs in the UK UoB

The Event

Every SME’s journey to Net Zero is unique; strategy and policy support should align accordingly. Decarbonising their business models means taking immediate responsibility for tackling emissions everywhere in and across their operations.

Scope 3 accounts for indirect emissions across a company’s supply chain. Supply chain emissions are the biggest piece of the net-zero puzzle, making up 90% of most companies’ carbon footprint. But with vast and complex supply chains, calculating, tracking and reducing these Scope 3 emissions can be hard, and finding resilient Net Zero Solutions can be harder.

This research-informed project presents the first of a series of workshops to bring together small and medium-sized firms in the UK to discuss their strategy and approach to achieving net-zero emissions by addressing Scope 3 emissions in their value creation and across their supply chain.
