The event
This full-day workshop is for local authority Sustainable Development Officers primarily, although other attendees will be considered. The event will be split into two halves, a morning and afternoon workshop. The morning workshop will focus on Community Energy. Delegates will hear from good practice examples of community energy schemes and why local authorities have chosen to become involved in them. Successes and barriers to implementing such schemes will be discussed. There will also be an opportunity for networking and to discuss community energy and its benefits. This half of the day is kindly being organised by Worcestershire County Council, chair of the SDO Network. The afternoon workshop will focus on Community Resilience. As with the morning session, delegates will hear from local authorities that have successfully implemented community resilience schemes, why they did so and any barriers to success. This session will also include presentations about resources that are available to help with implementation as well as an opportunity to discuss what makes a good community resilience scheme. An agenda for both workshops is available here.
